Overview

The purpose of our department is to provide the best possible teaching and training experience, while excelling in patient care and research. We strive to continue to develop the best academic and clinical dermatologists. We provide comprehensive care to patients suffering from all dermatological diseases including Leprosy & Sexually transmitted infections. Department is equipped with state of the art instruments for carrying the latest procedures. All Dermatosurgical & Cosmetology procedures including phototherapy, chemical peeling, and lasers are done in the department. Special clinics are available in the OPD on prescribed days..

The M.D. degree course in Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy was started in the year 2014(Recognized by MCI). The department has an OPD in its four sections dealing with skin diseases, Venereal diseases and Hansen’s disease. Special OPD clinics include follow-up patients with Vitiligo, Hansen’s disease ,Psoriasis, Contact dermatitis, Auto immune disorders etc.

Regular academic activities like CME, Workshop etc are conducted by the department. Many articles are being published in National & international journals from the department.

We as a post graduate training department, intend to provide comprehensive care to all Dermatology & STI diseases. Making the adolescents and adults aware about sexual health and safe sexual practices are also the priority motto of our department. Above all, making our department as one of the best Post graduate training center is our dream.

Facilities

Well-equipped 12 Major and two minor operation theatres are available. Various equipment and devices with cutting-edge-technology have been procured to improve the comfort as well as safety of the patients. Portable Ultrasound machine (SonoSite- Edge II) is available for guiding the regional blocks, pain-relief procedures, arterial/central venous cannulation, cardiac evaluation, etc. All varieties of surgical procedures are performed with meticulous care by the team of surgeons and anesthesiologists. Besides, emergency procedures are taken up round the clock.

    Latest editions of world class text books as well as journals are available. Updated every year with high quality text books written by internationally reputed authors.

  • Department Museum

    Museum has collections of old equipment having historical significance and charts describing the breakthrough events that helped the field of Anesthesiology to progress in leaps and bounds.

  • UG, PG teaching sessions are conducted regularly as per the norms. We also do quality research activities.
  • We actively participate in various academic activities such as conferences, CMEs of regional, national, international level.
